SOUTH BURLINGTON VT — The Hoehl Family Foundation has made a $1 million pledge to Lund for its 50 Joy Drive Capital Campaign. The leadership gift will help realize the 20,000 sq. ft. building at 50 Joy Drive, which will become the home of Lund programs in adoption, child care, education, as well as Lund’s Parent Child Center.   The new facility will complement Lund’s residential treatment center located in close proximity at Glen Road, Burlington. The Campaign goal is $3.5 million.

“Lund is extremely grateful for this very generous leadership gift from the Hoehl Family Foundation,” says Barbara Rachelson, the agency’s executive director. “The Hoehls have been close to Lund for many years and have supported a variety of our activities. We are thrilled their foundation has chosen to make such a dramatic and emphatic statement that it shares our mission to help Vermont children thrive.”

Lund’s mission is to help children thrive by serving families with children; pregnant and parenting teens and young adults; and adoptive families. Founded in 1890 as a maternity home, Lund today serves over 5,000 clients annually.  Since its founding, the agency has completed more than 8,600 adoptions and improved the lives of more than 50,000 people through its residential and community services.”While Lund’s programs have expanded dramatically over the years, what has never changed is this core belief: every child has a basic right to be in a safe, stable and loving home,” says Rachelson.

The Hoehl Family Foundation was created in 1996 by Robert H. Hoehl, his wife, Cindy, and their children.  Bob Hoehl, who died in 2010, was co-founder of the IDX software company.  “The foundation has distinguished itself by becoming one of Vermont’s most thoughtful and generous philanthropic organizations,” says Rachelson, “and Lund is honored to become part of the Hoehl legacy.”
