Maurine Gilbert, Emily Lee and Allegra Miller, all of Burlington, have joined the Board of Trustees.

Previously a volunteer at Lund, Maurine was very involved in the rebranding process that culminated in a new image for Lund in September 2012.  With a background in marketing and public relations, Maurine brings valuable expertise to the organization. She is currently working for the Vermont Child Health Improvement Program.  In her spare time she is a mentor through the King Street Youth Center’s Big Buddy program.

Emily’s first connection to Lund came by applying her background in banking and financial management to the finance committee.  She is very connected in the Burlington community as a member of the Ward 2 NPA Steering Committee.  Emily was also the recipient in 2012 of the Ray O’ Connor Award for Community Improvement for her work with on the board of Preservation Burlington.

Allegra comes to Lund with a wealth of experience having worked in education in Chittenden County, both as a teacher and as an administrator, for over 32 years and has a special interest in supporting Lund’s educational programs. She will be the Co-Principal of Hinesburg Community School this coming school year.  Allegra has been connected to Lund for many years through holiday giving and food drives.  She is a member of the Vermont Principal’s Association, Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, and the Well Spouse Organization.

All at Lund are extremely grateful for the time and energy that these new board members will put towards supporting the mission of the organization to help women and children thrive.  Welcome to Lund!
